Allen Road Bridging: Affordable Housing and Retail

We need more affordable housing which is why I put forward a motion asking for City Planning staff to report on the feasibility of building affordable housing and retail above the Allen Road as bridging is being constructed.

The motion passed at the June 15 and 16 City Council meetings. Council requested the Chief Planner and Executive Director, City Planning prepare a report on the feasibility of building affordable housing and retail above the Allen Road as part of ongoing bridging construction. The report will investigate the possibility of building affordable housing and retail sites above the Allen Road from Lawrence Avenue West to Eglinton Avenue West in any future bridging opportunities. The report will be sent to Council by the first quarter of 2023
